DENTAL IMPLANTS
A dental implant is essentially a substitute for a natural tooth root. If you have good general health, they will almost certainly work for you. This may be an excellent solution to fill the gap caused by a missing tooth or to permanently anchor a partial or full denture. A long term investment, dental implants can actually save you money due to their permanence and functionality. We can offer financing options to make implants even more affordable.
In this surgical procedure, the dentist places one or more titanium posts directly in the bones of your jaw. Tooth options range from a single tooth crown, fixed bridge, or implant supported over-denture. These all emulate natural teeth in their appearance and function.
Our implants procedures include all connectors and attachments, as well as the implant post. Nothing else is required except for the tooth restoration (crown, bridge, or denture) which is usually placed after healing and integration are complete.

The appearance of a dental implant supported restoration is as close to natural as possible. No one needs to know, except you and your dentist!

Dental Implants have been of special interest to Dr. Dean Stelmaschuk right from the beginning of his career. He chose this as this topic of his University of Alberta dissertation in 1982.
In 1986 he travelled to Hong Kong for the International Implant Symposium. This was followed by more implant studies in Banff, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver, Victoria and other locations around the world. In 1989, while the field was still in relative infancy, Dr. Stelmaschuk completed his first implant surgery case. And he is still at it, and now many thousands of placements later, his special interest in this area of dentistry is still going strong.

Dr. Stelmaschuk has participated in the Peer Mentorship Program, travelling throughout Western Canada instrucing fledgling dentists and their staff on the intricacies of the procedures. His experience, both in years and in variety and number of cases, place him in the forefront of this exciting field of dentistry.
